So excited to see wood...

Now it's time for the fun stuff! 4/25/08

The pour...

The pour 4/21/08 8am

Question of the day. Just how many loads of concrete does it take to fill a 7 foot slab???

Geromi, Brenna and Gage went out for the BIG event. I was home snoozing after a work night. Brenna thought the pour "was so cool!" Gage, unimpressed, watched a movie in the SUV.

309 Verbena

Being on the market with 2 small kids running around is just plain CHAOS! I swear everyday since this started by the end it is a Calgon day. We have 2 offers on the table and one potential.

Offer #1 came in at 20k under and wanted (get ready for the long list) our frig, washer and dryer (ok, at this point we are fine), shed (Ok, who wants to move it) mounted indoor and ourdoor speakers(are you nuts) AND hottub (crazy, psycho). If you are coming to us with a list that long that adds up to at least 12k then don't start 20k under. Oh and we need to move in 3 weeks!

Offer #2 came in at just 2 under. We are freaking excited UNTIL we read they would like almost 11k in closing costs, the playscape, shed, us to fix EVERYTHING that may come up in inspection. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of living through one they are RIDICULOUS! They list everything and anything that noone needs to or every fixes. Example from our condo was the hot water heater was off level by 1/8 in. Sure, I'll get right on it. So offer #2 while it starts off good fails quickly.

Potential #3 we love them! We want them to have our home. They are level headed, mature and realistic. They just need to find out if our ARC will let them add on our driveway.

PLEASE let this be over soon!

Home build update. Met the new concrete team today and guess what...they seem to actually know what they are doing.

Set back #101- During the rain storm Thurday night and I mean all night storm our back wall to our living room caved! Apparently Team 2 used those paper bags instead of the plastic and the weight of all the water in them collapsed the entire 7ft wall!

We are told we pour at 8am Monday! Now do we have the babies put their mark permanently on the concrete or not?!?

Building our dream home...

Step 1:
Find the perfect lot in your dream
neighborhood.

Step 2:

Realize that your dream lot has some obstacles. So, maybe that land you thought was flat has a slight slope to it (making the right rear of your dream home sit on an 8 foot slab).

Step 3:

Ah, just before the pour! I cant wait for morning coffee with hubby looking out at that view! Perfection!

How we named our babies...

Brenna Elizabeth
6/13/04
Daddys Girl

Gage Alfred
9/11/06
Mamas Boy

Brenna was named after Geromi's mom and my grandmother. Brenna for Brenda and Elizabeth for Hanna Elizabeth. Both grandma's have passed so her name is in honor of these woman we loved so much.
Gage was named as every first born male in Geromi's family has been. G. Alfred T_____. I had always wanted a boy named Gage so we fit perfect together!

So lets try concrete guy #3.

3rd times the charm, right?!?

Here we are in custom home building land. Trying to build our dream home, sell our current home (in this great market, sarcasm) and keep up with our 2 daring kiddos!

I just got a call from our builder that we fired concrete guy #2! Lets see...Could it be because yesterday when I was out at the property one of the "Foreman2" who really wasnt certain of the English language asked me how wide my porch was WHILE HOLDING OUR PLANS! So, there I sit in my Tahoe with our 19m old screaming in the back trying to explain a 1/4 inch scale to our concrete team. Nice!

Or, could it be that the partner "Foreman1" was too hungover to work. He spend one of his few days there puking in our port-a-potty! WTH, people!

So, I have been assured by our builder that Team 3 is our team! Well, they better be or I have one hubby who is ready to go postal! I am promised a slab on Monday! Today is Thursday so they have really 4 days to get it right!

Pray!!!

On to our kid info! Both are blessings as challenging as they can be! We have Brenna our princess who spends her time bossing brother and putting 18 tubes of her lipstick stash on. 18 tubes every time! Not one it just doesnt look right! Oh the joys of being a 3 year old, almost 4 year old, princess.

Next lil G, aka, Wild Bill, Crazy, Maniac, Nutcase you get the picture. He is a total Mama's boy but a dare devil through and through! So, I get up with him yesterday for his 7am wake up call found myself dozing on the couch. Brenna came and woke me up and I find baby G in his highchair! In walks hubby who I think put him there. Wrong. He has climbed sissys chair to scale our glass top table and get himself ready for breakfast. Fun times!

I am off to pick up our princess from school. I am going to add some pic's later and get this blog going! I am so excited to have a way to track our home building journey, unload, and just keep a diary of life with our babies.

Big blue skies!
