Closer...

The electrician turned the lights on for me inside yesterday (in this pic you can see the column lights mounted, now we just need a front door and driveway)! I swear inside my head I heard "let there be light." Not to be corny but seriously sometimes you wonder if the lights will work, will the water actually not flood the house but drain, etc. Since this build has been a freaking 100% challenge its hard to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

...but there is.

BLUE is HOME!!!

93.4 miles round trip and BLUE DOG is HOME!!! I was recovering from a night shift so Geromi made the drive with the kids back to the warehouse. Geromi said it was priceless when he gave Gage back Blue. He said he held his face and just stared him in his eyes then hugged him really really tight. What a BFF. He has not put blue down today. These are some pics of our inseperable duo from today!

Anyone seen a Blue Dog???

This was just last night with beloved Blue Dog.
So, we were in San Antonio at 10:30 am this morning.

46.7 miles from our house to the carpet store where we forgot G's beloved "blue dog."

Anyone who has been around G knows he may as well be Linus with Blue in tow. Imagine our surprise when at 12:08pm when we find out that blue is MIA. I frantically phoned the store which closed at 12pm!!! Terrified I start calling stores in Austin for a new blue.

79miles later we arrive at Nordstroms for a new blue.

As we get to the counter where they are holding him Brenna sees him first and says "thats NOT the right blue." It seems Gund has revamped him. I buy him hoping for just 2 days of cuddles. Nope! G threw him at him the minute I tried to pass him off.

25miles later we are home.

I lay G down for a nap with the new blue (just in the off chance he may give in) and B's lambie which is blues sibling basically. It was AWEFUL. He cried, and whined for an hour and never gave in. During this hour I made about 30 phone calls trying to find a new/old school blue. A boutique had one in a back room in a drawer as luck would have it. So, we scooped up G and off we went.

30 miles later and we are at the boutique.

We enter and G sees the woman with the new old blue and he turns and runs screaming. How the heck does he know? Granted they have been inseperable for 2 years now but still. I grab it deciding to wash it and try again and off we go.

30 miles later (and one stop back at the mall) and we are home!

So, 210 miles, 2 blue dogs, a miserable G, tired B, worn out mommy, working daddy and all I can say is its going to be a VERY long night!
Help!!!

Less than a month...

Yep, our new house will be done, somehow, in less than a month.

...that is all. You can now all return to your normal daily activities!

She swam the width!!!

These are pics of our neighborhood pool. Its really wider than these pics show. Brenna was swimming so fast today I asked why not try to go across underwater. Our little mermaid did it and did it three times! She was so proud of herself. I will take a better picture next time we are there. It was just me with the two of them so I couldnt juggle a camera too!
Way to go Brenna!!!
I think she thinks her name is Ariel now!

Taking brother for a ride...

The 2nd pic is G giving knuckles to me for a great ride! They must have drove around the front yard a 100 times. Gage loves it and B loved making him happy (since he is usually a whiney hiney)! This was so much more fun for G than the gator. I think he felt like he was driving! Soon enough little man. Soon enough.

Trendy to Traditional...

Bet you tell which is which, huh?!?
So lesson #816 when buying sinks.
So, I asked more than once it has a 4 in center, right? Well, a 4 in center is not the center of the sink as I thought. The salesperson asked "so this is for your kids???" "Why, yes" I stated very confident with my decision! Well, I told her the 8 inch would be too deep why she didnt laugh out loud at me I have no idea. The 4in. vs 8in. is talking about the faucet spread NOT the sink depth. Imagine our surprise when we opened the special order sink last night to find that the center may have 1, yes ONE, inch in depth. We both just looked at each and and recited "this will never work."
So today we are in search of a sink, kid friendly, and just in the knick of time for the granite guy to have a template for tomorrow!
More fun in homebuilding land to come. I am sure!

Morning brush

2 things to note from these pictures:

1) That IS NOT Gages toothbrush its daddys!

2) Do you think its time to splurge on a 2nd step stool or wait until the first throw down?

*On a side note its usually my toothbrush that he chooses. I am not sure what he has against the dozen or so that are his?!?
