This week was lots of plumbing, trim paint, some finishing framing, and VERY importantly in Texas air conditioning!!! We also got to meet with cabinet and floor people.
Finally the fun parts start.

Last day of 3yr old preschool

You would think I might have gotten a picture of her in her cutie pie polka dot dress she insisted on wearing today...but no. I missed it. I worked last night so I spaced on the whole picture thing. Here is an afterschool resting shot of B and her gal pals and another of her passed out on the couch at 6:33pm after dinner. You would also think with the pictures I post that our kids are naked 24/7. I promise they have clothes, CUTE ones, more than any ten children need so why are they nakey in all my pics?
So, next year B will be in the "Monkey" pre-kinder class at school. I can't believe its been another year already!

Happy Last Day of School Sweet Girl!!!

Memorial Day Weekend (aka BIG G's Bday)

We had the Markos over for Memorial Day and Mr. Oesch. Its so nice being off on a Sunday. The kids had a blast and the dad's got to bond a little more. There was tons of water fun but somehow all the kiddos ended up in a pool big enough for one. As usual B was the first to pass out. Gage was still going strong at 10pm! That boy can hang all night if we let him.
Happy Memorial Day 2008

Next week rock

Just a few more tweeks from the framers and we are "rocking", literally. That front porch has a high arch and its still straight. There is a window missing because I had a woman fit and now we are waiting on a special order. The plumbing mess is fixed. We have brought on a God send of a man named Barry to help us with the rest of our sub part and we just adore him. We are both so happy he is helping us finish this project off. He will stick around after the build and help us with all the extra's that you dont know about until after you build. Something so we dont fall 8 feet out of our master doors, something so the kids dont fall 6 feet off our porch. You get the picture.

Time for a nap

I guess he was ready before I was. This was 12:50pm and he goes down at 1pm! Gotta love the blue dog lovey.

Pretzels

What? You looking at me? Yes, my name is G-man and I have a real problem with pretzels. In my short 20 months of life I bet you can't guess how many of these tubs I have made mommy and daddy buy! Now, dont get me wrong I share with my trusty dog "nana" (really Kana) and sometimes my sis but I do most of the pretzel damage in this house!

Daddy's Birthday is tomorrow...

So, these may not be ours yet but I was just informed by our soon to be 4 year old that "we will be making cupcakes, with white icing and heart sprinkles cause I so love my daddy!"

A different view

This is how we often find Brenna watching TV. All curled up on the back of the couch. She says "its just so much more comfy!"

Reading

They can spend hours doing just this.
Brenna is currently on a Peter Pan marathon at night. The long version not a short hard book story. We had to shorten it to 3 pages per night. I am not really sure at this point how many times we have read the story. We get to the end and start over the next day. We now include Gage in our nightly readings. We couldnt before because he was just too destructive when we were trying to calm down. So, nighttime readings have taking on a whole new life and length. We read for an hour the other night nonstop just book after book after book.

Cleaning up inside

This is from the 20th when they finally started to clean up all the extra lumber, nails and wrap. Its going, speed bump after speed bump but we are moving along.

The beauty of trees

Geromi started cleaning up the property. Its just gorgeous. Neither us us really knew what we would uncover. We are very pleasantly surprised!

Sleeping baby

So, Gage goes down at 1pm pretty much like clockwork and up at 3pm. Today its 4:30, 4:38 I open his door, 4:45 I snap pics of him and finally at 4:48 the sleeping baby wakes!

Dont tell Gage but I am almost certain when he is 20 years and not 20 months I will still see a baby. I swear I look at him and he is so little and still our baby. Then I take this sleeping baby pic and he is so long and toddleresque. How did that happen. I am that mom. The one who wants to keep them home, keep them young (as hard as it is) and just keep them close. Crazy (his nickname of many) is such a WILD man awake but you would never know it in his pictures.

Brenna mommy

So, today Brenna told me when "its my turn to be a mommy I am going to have one girl and two boys". She also told me her lil boy will be named "Callen." We know NO ONE named Callen. Not friends, school or other activities. So, I guess when its my turn to be a granny we shall see. OMG...I said granny and the girl isnt even 4 yet!!!

The difference a day makes

We have a black top roof! Come on shingles!!!
We are down to just 3 windows to mount!
In the 2nd pic I am standing in the loft looking down.
Guess I need to get it in gear and get some stucco and trim color names STAT!

The joys of being the little brother

Shocker!
Sissy that is some COLD water!
If you can not tell that is bubble bath in the water table. Plain water is just not nearly as much fun.

Windows and a board roof 5/15/08

We have managed to not have the greatest weather luck lately. They are still moving along at great speed but the rain leads to days off. We have an insulated inner ceiling now (looks kinda like tin foil) and the start of windows. The very larger center high living room window is my favorite! I also really like the bronze color our builder likes to use. Great choice!
Big things to come next week with stone, flooring, and probably some shingles! Oh my...

Mothers Day 2008

For Mothers Day Geromi came home with 2 lovely floral wraps for Grandma Elaine and I. They were in town for dance recital. He also had Brenna come out with a new pair of Oakley Ravishing in black for me! I posted my cards so you can see how sweet they are! How can you just not love getting a sweet, sweet card?!? We had breakfast at our favorite Mexican dive restaurant and I even got a nap! All in all it was a great day. It was a little sad going to work but it was OK celebrating with our NICU mommies.
Gotta love a new pair of shades!

Recital Day 2008

Brennas big dance day is finally here.
Off to practice for the BIG night!

Getting kisses from daddy as she goes backstage.

Passing time waiting for her call.

After her bow.

It was Daddys turn to take flowers up this year.

So our princess has decided that next year there will be 2 numbers. Apparently her ballet number did not give her enough stage time!

Congrats baby girl we are all so proud of you!!!

Walling in 5/11/2008

Front of the house is really taking shape!

Garage side. Gages room is upstairs and walled in now.

From the rear. You can see the wall of windows in the living room. The patio is on the right and master is on the left. There will be a french doors leading to a deck off the master. We have no choice since its in the clouds!

My favorite the master shower walled in! You can see where the four windows will go.

This is standing in the foyer and looking out through the wall of windows.

This is the kids playroom. Its such a great space. There are doors inside on each side of the room that open up to about a 4-6 ft by 24 ft storage space.

So, what did we learn about gas prices this week? Not only do they jack up everything else but they jacked up the price of our stone too! So the stone we chose was called Oklahoma (yep, thats where its from). Well, when they called to price it out for delivery this week it had TRIPLED!

The joys of home building continue!

House wrap 5/7/08

Peeking through the trees (backside)

So, the framers are really "knocking it out." The BIG chore is going to be our nonlandscaping! Is that even a word. My sis saw the house yesterday and was a little alarmed by our "roadbase" front lawn. Geromi and I are a little more freaked by the small piles of concrete that the truck dumped on our property. I laughingly asked Geromi if we could do something with it?!? Not much to do since its literally a few mounds of concrete. Sure hope that is part of cleanup! And the fun continues...
